I've always wanted to run a marathon (save for the six months or so following the half marathon I completed when I wondered how anyone could possibly do double the distance) so I'm delighted to get the opportunity to test myself while raising money for a great charity like Whizz-Kidz.
The following is their standard blurb, but it really is a great charity that I've learned a lot about in recent years and feel passionate about supporting:
I’m inspired by the work that Whizz-Kidz do providing disabled children and young people with vital mobility equipment, opportunities to meet and have fun, and training to help them gain skills and look forward to a brighter future.
Whizz-Kidz have changed the lives of more than 20,000 disabled children since 1990. But there are still thousands of children in the UK waiting for the chance to achieve their true potential. This is where you come in.
The money you give will – quite literally – open up a world of opportunity for these young people.
You can help Whizz-Kidz achieve their goal so that disabled children can live a life full of friendship and hope for an independent future. Just like any other kid’s.
Please sponsor me by donating whatever you can. The more people that know about Whizz-Kidz, the greater their impact in helping more young disabled children.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
